Submission Requirements:

There is no submission limit. You can submit however many times you’d like, up until 6 pages or three pieces have been accepted for the semester’s anthology.

All pieces should have a title, or clarification that it is an untitled piece.

Anonymous work is accepted; in the e-mail, just specify that if the piece is accepted, it should be published as Anonymous.

NO Fan-Art or Fan-Fiction (it violates copy-right laws). 

 

Written Work

 Prose, Poetry, Dramatic Scene/Monologue, Song Lyrics, etc.

- 12 pt. font/double-spaced

- Maximum 6 pages total

- If longer (and accepted), we may choose the strongest section and use it as an excerpt.

- All work must be entirely original.

- Word Document or PDF files only.

 

Art

Sketches, Paintings, Drawings, Comics, Graphic Art, Photography, Sculptures, etc.

- All work must be entirely original.

- JPEG, PNG, PDF, or Photoshop files only.

- Sketches/Paintings/Drawings/Comics

- Scanned images are appreciated.  Photographs of a piece distort the coloring and make it more difficult to see/appreciate the quality.

- If you don’t know where to find a scanner capable of doing this, Dreyfuss has a giant one in the computer lab.

 

General Iron Horse Editing Process Information:

- While a piece is undergoing the editing process, the author/artist’s name is never revealed to keep the final decision as unbiased as possible.

- During the editing process, the piece is workshopped among the members/editors of Iron Horse Creative Anthology.

- After the piece is workshopped, the editors will come to a vote.

- A piece can be categorized in 3 ways:

    - Accepted As Is (see Accepted Submissions)

    - Resubmit With Edits (see Resubmit With Edits Submissions)

    - Rejected (see Rejected Submissions)

- After the final decision is made, Iron Horse Creative Anthology will send the artist/author an e-mail about the verdict of the piece.

- Iron Horse will send suggested revisions on Resubmit With Edits and Rejected pieces.

 

Rejected Submissions:

- If your submission has been rejected, you are more than welcome to submit other pieces.

 

Resubmit With Edits Submissions:

- If your submission has been categorized as Resubmit With Edits, you will have time to edit and resubmit the piece. 
 

Accepted Submissions:

- If you have submitted more than one piece and multiple pieces had been selected/accepted, know that we will only publish a limited number of pieces per author/artist (print publication only, as paper is expensive):

- Written Works:

    - Up to 6 pages per author.

 

- If any number of your pieces have been accepted, once the magazine is published, you will receive a copy.
